All stone walling products can be used to create beautiful high-quality stonework for external facades, internal feature walls, boundary walls, garden walls, entrance pillars, stone wall features, fireplaces and for other landscaping designs.
Stonework appearance can vary depending on which product type and build style is chosen. Should you choose to dry stone build, the stone will be built dry on top of each other without mortar joints in between. A dry-stone build will look very different from the same material built with mortar. Both methods are popular building styles and will be down to the customers own personal choice.
Appearances in stonework will also vary due to the stonemason’s individual build style. To recreate stonework you like, we recommend taking imagery of projects you’ve seen to show your stonemason.
Our machined and tumbled building stone products are supplied in tonne bags. Random stone rubble can be supplied in pallets or loose lorry load. Our garden walling is generally supplied in cages.
McMonagle Stone has recently added tumbled stone to our walling range. As this is a new product, we don’t unfortunately have lots of project imagery just yet. Some products may be missing from our website and therefore it is always best to contact our sales team directly with an image to see if we can match or source your stone preference from one of our reputable suppliers.
When shopping around you will notice that other companies will have different names when referring to the various natural stone walling products. At McMonagle Stone, we refer to our machine block style stone as machined. Another name for this type of product is guillotined stone. This production process regardless of the product title means the material has been mechanically split using a guillotine machine.
We refer to our stone rubble products as random rubble. This is basically rough stone in its most basic irregular form and is used for random rubble masonry. Tumbled stone refers to the finish process where the stone is added to an industrial size tumbling machine that gently rolls stone until it has a more aging rounded appearance.
