Through determination, discipline and a passion for the industry, Dan McMonagle began quarrying stone in the family’s sandstone quarry in 1974. Dan’s work started off part-time and with support from his wife Anna and brother Cathal, McMonagle Stone was later established in 1988. As a result of Dan’s leadership and traditional sales techniques, McMonagle Stone has quickly grown from a small part-time business to a large company that sees demand for its products from both domestic and commercial customers in Ireland, the UK and abroad. Today employing over 70 people, Dan is supported by his son’s Michael and Daniel in continuing the company’s success year on year.  

Reared working on the family farm, Michael shared his father’s passion for agriculture and attended St Patrick’s Agriculture College in Co. Monaghan. It wasn’t until he returned home to Donegal that he decided to join the family business. Starting off in general operations, Michael gained considerable experience and technical knowledge and gradually moved into sales, representing McMonagle Stone in the UK. With over 20 years’ experience, Michael is now the Sales Director of McMonagle Stone and has played a vital role in the company’s expansion in recent years. Michael is responsible for directing all sales and marketing activities within the company and ensuring the company’s sales grow year on year. Michael’s proven track record and in-depth product knowledge offers customers valuable senior level expertise when purchasing natural stone building and landscaping materials for their projects.

Daniel is a certified Quantity Surveyor with over 15 years industry experience. Having previously worked as a Quantity Surveyor with KSN, Daniel decided to join the family business in 2007, taking up position as Operations Manager. Now Operation’s Director for McMonagle Stone, Daniel plays a leading role in overseeing all aspects of the business ensuring all functions from managing raw materials, inventory, purchasing, logistics, pricing, production and personnel operates smoothly on a daily basis.

Based in our Landscape Centre in Swords, Co Dublin since its launch in March 2014, Chris oversees the daily operations to include sales, deliveries, collections, imports and exports. Michelle is responsible for managing the day to day marketing activities and long-term marketing strategy for the company. With a strong creative outlook and overall responsibility for brand management, Michelle’s focus is to maintain effective communication both internally and externally to ensure that all relevant company functions perform in line with McMonagle Stone's marketing and business objectives.

Having joined McMonagle Stone in 2003, Declan is responsible for the day -to -day logistical tasks, ensuring accurate, timely daily order deliveries to our customers nationwide. Declan works closely with our sales department, production team and drivers to coordinate deliveries as per our customers’ requirements.

With over 20 years’ experience with McMonagle Stone, Bobby is our senior technical expert offering valuable in-house cost estimating capabilities to help our customers establish a realistic budget early in the planning process. Bobby works closely with our sales department to review customer plans and specs in detail to determine accurate quotations. Bobby also works closely with our talented workshop team to ensure that any architectural items requested can be tailored to meet our customer's’ bespoke requirements.

Based in our Head Office in Mountcharles, Val is responsible for ensuring our production department meets its quality assurance and scheduling goals by planning, scheduling, executing, and directing production activities.

Stephen joins McMonagle Stone as Depot Manager following the opening of our new showroom in Lisburn in March 2018. With a background in stonemasonry, Stephen's vast knowledge and experience working with natural stone is a huge benefit to the team. Stephen is responsible for managing the depot's daily operations and providing a welcoming environment for our customers visiting our showroom. With a customer orientated approach Stephen will work closely with both commercial and retail customers to determine their project requirements, presenting suitable cost - effective solutions to meet their needs.
