Donegal Granite - Machined
Donegal Granite is an igneous rock which has cooled slowly, allowing distinctive crystal patterns to form. These crystals are clearly visible to the naked eye. Most granites consists of three minerals which can be easily distinguished, Quartzite, Mica and Feldspar.
This natural building stone material is recognisable for its stunning mixture of colour tones ranging from orange, pink, cream, grey and golden browns. It can be seen used in beautiful stonework on many domestic and commercial buildings throughout Ireland and N. Ireland.
This product is called Donegal Granite - Machined due to how it is produced. The raw material is machine split on 2 - 3 sides in our production facility, giving at least one working face on each stone. Further refinement of raw material stones may require additional dressing by your stonemason onsite depending on preferred style of build.
Donegal Granite - Machined is commonly used to create decorative stonework for domestic houses, commercial buildings, garden and landscaping projects. Always remember that stonework may appear different from one project to the next due to colour variations or as a result of a stonemasons individual build style. Stonework will appear darker when wet and lighter when dry. It is recommended to view natural stone material in reality to get a better understanding of its natural characteristics and colour variations.
